Parental help and adult support
Scouting depends on its adult volunteers and we will always welcome any help you are able to give the Group.
We are a hugely successful Group and with all of our Sections meeting on two nights each week we really are at the maximum capacity. At our last census the Group had a total membership of over 170 and this largely due to a dedicated team of Leaders and many parent helpers as well as an enthusiastic Executive Committee – but we could always do with more help.
One of the myths of Scouting is that involvement requires coming along every week and possibly the wearing of uniform. The reality is that parents can be involved in so many ways on a flexible basis with any time that you may have to spare. So this does not necessarily mean every week- perhaps once a month or once or twice a year at camps. Everyone who assists the Group whether as a helper or as a leader needs to complete a CRB check which is included in the Occasional Helper and Adult Appointment forms.
If you would like the opportunity to do something you’d never thought of doing, while having lots of fun and giving back to the community at the same time, please get in touch – we can always do with more leaders! You don’t have to be an expert in all-things-scouting – the only essential ingredient is wanting to have fun Scouting!
